International Conference on Gender and Education: Critical Issues, Policy and Practice

The International Conference on Gender and Education aims to engage researchers, academics and policy makers in discussions and debates concerning the interplay between gender related issues and educational dynamics. This conference will explore the consequences and reflections of hierarchical structures in organizational settings, societal resistance involving gender issues, the politics of gender inequality, gender dimensions of laws and gendered aspects of cultural norms and values that intersect with education.
This conference is organised by Gender Studies Platform - London Centre for Social Studies (LCSS), School of Education, Indiana University - Bloomington, Centre for Gender in Global Context (GENCEN) Michigan State University, and Department of Law - Gediz University
A pre-conference tour will take place on Thursday May 28th, providing an opportunity for the delegates to network with each other prior to the early-start of the conference the following morning. We would like to thank Kinsey Institute for their kind support in organising the pre-conference tour.*
The conference reception will be held at Grunwald Gallery of Art on Friday May 29, 2015 after 5pm. Attendees will get the opportunity to explore the museum in an open-house format. The museum will also be hosting the Kinsey Juried Art Show during this time.
The conference programme is set to be finalised and announced three weeks before the conference commences.
Please note that only the Kinsley Institute tour will be taking place on Thursday May 28th with the intention of creating a pre-conference networking opportunity. All panel sessions will take place on 29 & 30 May.
