This session will try to cover classic British Literature along with the contemporary Children’s literature. Authors such as Roald Dahl, Michael Morpurgo will be introduced and sets of popular books will be given as gifts to encourage reading. The session will also cover topics as multicultural nature of British celebrations, British popular culture, values and mannerism.

Highlights of the activity

  • Introduce children British literature, from famous writers whose books often draw on British history and culture.
  • Providing children the knowledge of basic British literature that children would have had in their early years at school.
  • Helping children engage more with their friends, make links with TV programmes, and understand more British youth culture. 
  • Highlight British values and code of behaviour 
  • Introducing children about British sense of humour
  • Explaining festivals, celebrations and holidays to show the cultural diversity of the UK.
