Kathryn E. Engebretson, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in Curriculum & Instruction at Indiana University, Bloomington. Having graduated from the University of  Minnesota in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction: Social Studies and Human Rights, her scholarly work to this point has focused on gender particularly as it relates to controversial or difficult issues in K-12 education. Current projects stemming from those interests include work on gender and teacher education and multicultural education in the U.S. and in South Sudan.
