
Prof James Connelly
Professor of politics, University of Hull
Prof James Connelly is Professor of Political Theory in the School of Politics, philosophy and International Studies department, the University of Hull. He teaches political theory, contemporary political philosophy and environmental politics. He has published three editions of his co-authored book Politics and the Environment: From Theory to Practice and several articles on the politics and ethics of the environment; he is currently writing a monograph on environmental virtues and citizenship. He has also published extensively on the philosophy of R.G. Collingwood and the other British Idealists, on the philosophy of history, and on electoral systems and political participation.
He is Director of the Institute of Applied Ethics (http://www2.hull.ac.uk/discover/iae.aspx), a co-director of the Centre for Idealism and New Liberalism (http://www2.hull.ac.uk/fass/politics/staff/prof-james-connelly.aspx) and co-editor of the International Journal of Social Economics (www.emeraldinsight.com/ijse.htm)
