Dr Vural Sander Suicmez

Senior Reservoir Engineer, Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) Company

Dr. Vural Sander Suicmez currently works as a senior reservoir engineer at Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) Company in Seria, Brunei Darussalam. Prior to joining BSP, he worked at Shell International Exploration and Production Company in Rijswijk, The Netherlands between 2009 and 2011 and Saudi Aramco’s EXPEC Advanced Research Center in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia between 2006 and 2009. His main research interests include gas and solvent injection with a specific emphasis on CO2, compositional simulation, petrophysics and pore-scale modeling. He is also responsible for running the postgraduate course on Core Analysis for Petrophysics.

Dr. Suicmez holds PhD, MSc. and BSc. degrees all in petroleum engineering from Imperial College London, Stanford University in California and Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey respectively. He also serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering and a technical editor for the SPE Reservoir Evaluation & Engineering Journal.
