Dr Ihab Tewfik

Dr. Ihab Tewfik is a Senior Lecturer and Public Health Program Leader at the School of Biosciences, University of Westminster. Ihab holds a Master and Doctorate in Public Health-Nutrition from University of Alexandria (Egypt) in addition to PhD from London South Bank University. He has completed his Post-Doctoral fellowship at University of Westminster whilst leading on two food standards agency (FSA) projects during which he developed a new rapid method for detection of irradiated foods (Tewfik’s method). As Registered Practitioner in Higher Education – UK. He has worked as international consultant for UNICEF, BC and various Ministries of Health for more than 10 years. Ihab’s current research interests include the development of nutrient-dense multi-mixes based on traditional foods in sub-Saharan Africa for weaning, maternal nutrition and HIV/AIDS patients. In Nov. 2003 Ihab became an Editor for the World Review of Science, Technology and Sustainable Development, WRSTSD. In February 2006 Ihab was invited to attend the Nutrition Bulletin Editorial Advisory Board, at the British Nutrition Foundation.
