Gender & Migration Proceedings Published

LCSS has now published the proceedings e-book of the international conference on Gender & Migration: Critical Issues and Policy Implications which took place at Marmara University, Istanbul on 11-13 May 2013. The e-book brings together selected full-length papers from the presentations of the conference, offering different perspectives and studies on gender and migration issues. The book offers unique and thought-provoking papers on issues ranging from the experience of asylum seekers, migrant-women workers, sexual violence, parental migration, changing gender roles, female genital mutilations and masculinity. The book has been edited by Dr Sibel Safi (Gediz University) and Seref Kavak (Keele University).

The introduction of the book is made by one of the keynote speakers and conference committee members Prof Heaven Crawley, Swansea Universitytitled Engendering Migration Theory, Policy and Practice: Are We There Yet? Looking into the effect of international policies on gendered migration.

This collection of papers will be a great source of information for academics, researchers, students, NGOs, governmental departments or anybody looking to gain a new multinational and diverse intake into the subjects of gender and migration.
