Jessica Frith is a doctoral candidate at Kings’s College London, department of English Language and Literature. Her research focus is on narratives of birds in the late eighteenth century society, considering how ornithology attracts symbolic value within poetry and what this reveals about the transacions between literary and scientific thought. Her research also includes examining natural history writings, both those local to Britian and travel journals and naturalist work done in India, Tahiti and the Malay Archipelago.
