
Ozlem Erden

Ozlem Erden is a Fulbright sponsored PhD student in Curriculum Studies program at Indiana University, Bloomington. She received a BA in Science Teaching from Hacettepe University, and an MSc in Curriculum and Instruction from Middle East Technical University. She also holds a post graduate certificate in education studies from Middlesex University, London. Her master’s thesis was “An assessment of MoNE-YLSY scholarship program from the perspectives of scholars’: Changes in cultural, political, economic and educational perceptions.” She volunteered as an Education Platform Coordinator at London Centre for Social Studies. Her research area of interest includes multicultural education, migration issues and refugee education, international student mobility, curriculum models and designs, and sex education. Her work is oriented towards understanding educational issues in refugee camps along with challenges and issues in educational settings. She has worked towards exploring these issues while increasing the awareness of academics, policy makers and educators on educational and social issues. She has presented her research at national and international conferences and helped in organizing conferences related to her research interests.

She has also been integral in organizing International Conference on Gender and “Education (2015), International Gender and Migration Conference (2013), and The Third International Conference on Critical Education (2012) among others.
