World Orchestra for Peace: BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall
Postgraduate Network – BBC Proms World Orchestra for Peace
Date: Sunday 20 July 7.30pm – 10.00pm Royal Albert Hall
We are delighted to invite our colleagues and friends to join us for an incredible show by the World Orchestra for Peace at the BBC Proms. This will be the second organised activity by LCSS’s Postgraduate Network.
The long-running BBC Proms has been ever-present since 1895 consisting of a series of orchestral performances at the Royal Albert Hall during an eight-week summer period. One of the iconic traditions of the BBC Proms is to enjoy the concerts whilst standing on your feet (also known as Promming). The World Orchestra for Peace was first formed in 1995, bringing together dedicated and leading musicians from a number of different nations, from different orchestras, to represent unity and harmony in the spirit of peace. This will be the fourth time the World Orchestra for Peace will be performing at the Royal Albert Hall and will be conducted by the world-renowned Valery Gergiev.
This event will offer spectators a great insight into the British musical heritage at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, the opportunity to experience such an important and inspiring event as well as to witness a breath-taking musical performance. This marvelous spectacle will be ideal for anyone with a keen interest in the fascinating world of British arts & culture or simply classical music. The event is open to people of all ages and promise to create lasting memories.
